Wellness Care

Medical vs. Wellness Care

What’s the primary difference between standard medical care and wellness?  True Wellness seeks to turn on the body’s innate healing ability.  We do this by not adding more to the system, but by removing anything that may be interfering with normal function.  At Absolute Pain Relief we understand that pinched nerves can be caused by a muscle spasm, disc injury, edema from trauma or even a sprain/strain.

Dr. Karbassy along with his team of medical professionals take the step back approach and with the help of our digital x-ray machine, a thorough exam and assessment we attempt to identify the root cause of the problem.  We often work close with your primary doctor if needed throughout the healing process.

Inside Out vs. Outside In

If a patient has high blood pressure, the typical medical approach would be to be encourage that a prescription medication be taken that lowers blood pressure.  This may lower the blood pressure temporarily but ignores the underlying cause that is making the blood pressure high to begin with.  This runs the risk of side effects ever more complicating the person’s recovery and overall health.

The Wellness Approach

Wellness is a state of optimal conditions for normal functionality.  The wellness approach is to look for the underlying causes of any disruption or disturbance (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments needed in order to optimize the conditions for normal function. This environment encourages natural healing, and minimizes the need for other, more invasive treatments.  When the body is working properly, it tends to heal itself, no matter the condition.
